Born into a family of creative bohemians and artists, Josh's journey into filmmaking began in the art department, where he discovered the transformative power of art direction in shaping characters and narratives. From the moment he set foot on a film set, he was captivated, his sense of wonder and curiosity never waning. His early endeavours in directing led to a string of award-winning music videos, paving the way for a successful career in commercials including an inaugural Cannes Lion in 1996.

Balancing his time between directing commercials and some of New Zealand's biggest TV shows, Josh continues to push boundaries and captivate audiences, approaching each project with fresh eyes, drawing from the depth of his experiences while embracing new challenges.
